Free Cancer Camp & Health Screenings for GHMC Employees Was Held by KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals

A free cancer screening camp was organised for employees of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday, 8th October 2024. Over 300 employees from various departments of GHMC came forward and underwent comprehensive screenings, including ECG, 2D Echo, ultrasound, endoscopy, X-ray and mammogram.

The camp was led by our senior surgical gastroenterologist Dr. E. Vimalakar Reddy, who also announced the launch of a free mobile clinic for digestive system cancer screenings. This initiative, organised by Team Vimalakar Foundation, aims to bring mobile screening services to the community for early detection and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases and cancers.

The screening camp offered a wide range of tests and consultations, with a team of medical experts led by the Surgical Gastroenterologists – Dr. Vimalakar Reddy, Dr. Gaurang, Dr. Dinesh Reddy and Medical Gastroenterologist Dr. P. Rohan Reddy.

Dr. Vimalakar Reddy emphasised the end goal of expanding mobile cancer screening services across the state, especially in rural areas, utilising advanced technology. This initiative has received appreciation from Mayor Gadwala Vijayalakshmi and Deputy Mayor Mothe Sreelatha, who visited the camp along with other GHMC staff. The screening camp was a significant step towards promoting early cancer detection and prevention in the community.
