Promoting Spine Health Awareness on ‘World Spine Day’ at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals
We have proudly joined the global community in marking World Spine Day 2024, with a mission to raise awareness about the vital importance of spine health and the prevention of spinal pain and disability. With this year’s theme, “Support Your Spine,” the initiative aims to encourage individuals across the world to embrace evidence-based strategies for maintaining a healthy spine.
India, like many countries, is grappling with an alarming increase in spinal disorders, with approximately 60% of the population affected. The rise in sedentary lifestyles, particularly due to desk-bound jobs, is exacerbating spinal problems, particularly among younger generations. Furthermore, the elderly, many of whom seek surgical interventions to preserve their independence, also contribute to the increasing demand for spine care.
At KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals our spine care team emphasised the efficacy of both outpatient care and advanced pain management procedures. Thanks to rapid technological advancements, Minimally Invasive Spine Surgeries (MISS) have become the preferred treatment for many patients, offering a less invasive option with faster recovery times.
