World Heart Day Celebrations at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals

The event of World Heart Day was observed at the hospital with a special event dedicated to raising awareness about cardiovascular health and the launch of a new book on “Coronary OCT – A Case Based OCT Handbook for Internentional Cardiologists” written by Dr. Sridhar Kasturi, Head of the Department of Cardiology and Senior Interventional Cardiologist at KIMS-Sunshine Hospital.

The book offers a comprehensive guide for cardiologists giving them detailed insights into modern procedures, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases. Dr. Sridhar Kasturi emphasised the importance of a healthy lifestyle in preventing cardiovascular diseases. He urged the audience to incorporate regular exercise, a balanced diet, and stress management into their daily routines. With more than 20.5 million deaths worldwide attributed to cardiovascular diseases and six million of those deaths linked to poor diet and unhealthy lifestyle choices this is a crucial time to spread awareness and advocate change before it is too late.

The celebrations continued with a cake-cutting ceremony attended by senior cardiologists, including Dr. Shailender Singh, Dr. S. Vijay Kumar Reddy, Dr. R. Rajaram, Dr. Sandeep Janardhan, Dr. Narasinga Rao, Cardiologist Dr. D. Lingaswamy, and Associate Cardiologists Dr. Pranai and Dr. Kavya. Special recognitions were also extended to Dr. Parthasarathy and Dr. Himanchu Bhatia for their contributions to the hospital.

The event was graced by KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospitals COO Mr. Sudhakar Jadhav and several other senior doctors from various departments.
